Winnipeg’s Lauren Arnold has been getting her legs ready to compete in this weekend’s provincial fitness championships, which will be held at the Pantages Theatre today. The Grade 12 student finished first in the tetrathlon at the zone 5 championships, including a personal best of 12. Slagerman has also qualified in the 4×100m relay race at this weekend’s rural high school track and field championships in Dauphin. The Grade 12 student who maintains a 90% average, led his team to a 3-1 victory when he struck out 18 batters and hit a home run. Miles Macdonell defeated Oak Park 2-0 in a wild-card game to advance to the provincial high school soccer championships at the John Blumberg Complex this weekend.
